Talamex Stainless Steel Asymmetric Carbine Hooks with Eye From  £2.85

I needed this fitting for a not very important job on my dinghy. I could not really justify the twentyfive quid that these things usually cost so I was delighted to find this item at Bosun Bob's. The Wichard one is probably made to mountaineering/steeplejack standards of engineering and this one may not be (although it does not look very different) but it holds my sail up and is nice to look at and feel, it feels well made and the spring is just the right strength for one-handed operation. It arrived by return post and there were no silly Highlands and Islands surcharges which I often get. 100% happy
