I use this boyancy aid for stand up paddle boarding. It dose not ride up(for me). It keeps me afloat well In the more choppy places. It does not put you on your back, although if you tilt back you can float comfortably on your back. I wish it did have crotch straps for the extra safety but it dose extremely well without. I recommend it for all water sports even if you want that extra safety in the pool, it is fine to swim with. For the most comfortable fit and performance check the sizing and Measure yourself so you are comfortable. The 2 things i love about it is that you can paddle with ease as your arms are not restricted. The second thing is that you feel safe as wearing it is like a hug as it applies pressure(but not to much) to your chest. I love it and i hope this review helps.
